Fannin County Soccer Association

To All Fannin
Following are some general thoughts in regard to our program in the FCSA.
1. Please remember that warm-up time is important and coaches need to tell the parents to have the players at the field prior to game time to warm-up. Players should get into the habit of stretching before a game to avoid injury, even at a young age. A recommended warm-up time is 15-20 minutes before game.
2. The referee will check player equipment during this time. Remind players that no type of jewelry is allowed due to safety reasons.
3. DO NOT ASSUME A GAME IS CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER! Games will be rescheduled only if one of the teams is participating in a NTSA tournament. Remember we do play in the rain, unless there is a safety issue such as lightening or hail. If a game is cancelled you will be notified by your age division coordinator. The game will be rescheduled and you will be notified of the new date and time.
4. If a team is short-handed at game time, the game will proceed as scheduled. No one likes to see forfeitures of games due to a lack of players. The parents registered the players to play – ask them to respect the schedule and be at every game. After all, both teams are counting on them to be there.
5. Coaches please remind players and parents of a few “Common Sense” things to do at the games
a. Please sit or stand at least 3 feet from the sidelines on the spectator side of the field. Also no one is allowed to sit, stand or coach from the “end zones” while the game is in progress.
b. Please restrain toddlers and small children from wandering into the field of play during the game.
c. Please be supportive of the coaches, officials and all of the players (even those of the other team).
d. Please help us keep the park clean and our fields free of debris, such as soda cans, candy wrappers and water and sports drink bottles.
e. Please watch for children in the parking areas.
Fannin County Soccer Association belongs to its members. It is easy to find things that can be improved, and for some, even easier to complain about something while doing nothing about it! We can improve, grow and maintain a “first-class” association, but it takes time and cooperation to make it happen. It is important to appreciate how far we’ve come, and who has helped us to get where we are. So, on behalf of the FCSA we thank each and every one of you who care enough to give freely of yourself. Thanks for sharing your time and talents; to lead, to teach, to encourage, to organize, to administer, to serve and to make a difference in a child’s life! Thank you all and let’s have a great season!
